ABOUT VITAL AID FOUNDATION (VAF)

Vital Aid Foundation was founded in The Hague in November 23rd 2004 as a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political foundation.

The main intention was to help facilitate the integration of the minority from the African Diaspora into the Dutch society and culture.

The foundation strives to foster a conducive environment that encourages immigrants to participate fully in innovative productivity and optimum utilization of their intellectual capital.

How does VAF do it?

Vital Aid gives courses in Dutch language, computer and office skills. This is to help enhance the capacities of the beneficiaries in accessing important educational information and also that which is related to work and income. Being able to speak the Dutch language would make it easier for communication and finding ones’s way around. Self-esteem of the beneficiaries and self-pride is enhanced from the potentiality to get a job, earn an income and support one self without begging.

The foundation also coordinates and conducts Youth and women training programmes and seminars among the African Diaspora in the Netherlands and a few selected African countries for the purpose of enhancing social-economic empowerment as well as raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and Human Right issues.

Also, the organization focuses on undertaking projects that provide equal access to education, Human Rights, and to advance full and equitable participation of the poor and disadvantaged groups towards economic opportunities which are geared towards poverty alleviation.

Mostly importantly, VAF is on a proactive campaign and advocacy on domestic violence, women trafficking, migration and development…
